You are cordially invited to the 28th IAHR International Symposium on Ice, which will be hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in Shanghai, China. Founded in 1896, SJTU is one of China's most prestigious and historic universities, renowned for its excellence in engineering and technological innovation. The university has a strong research focus on polar science and engineering, covering key areas such as sea ice dynamics, ice mechanics, icebreaking ships, and Arctic offshore structures.
Shanghai, a global financial and economic hub, is one of the largest and most dynamic cities in China. As a modern and international city, it seamlessly blends rich cultural heritage with cutting-edge modernity, where futuristic skyscrapers stand alongside historic landmarks. The city is home to a thriving maritime industry, supported by leading universities, research institutes, design academies, and world-class shipyards.
We look forward to welcoming you to SJTU for an engaging and insightful symposium!

The Symposium will cover various areas of ice research including river ice, lake ice, sea ice, as well as their impacts on environmental ecosystems.
Suggested topics include but are not limited to:
-
River, lake, and reservoir ice
